I've done a lot of searching, including the archive of this mailing list and I 
couldn't find anyone else who had this problem, so I am hoping this isn't something 
stupid I am doing...

I am getting a 'write error - loss of streaming' with cdrecord 1.11a13pre3.  I was 
using 1.10, and downloaded and built the latest alpha when I ran into this problem.  
The CD-RW drive is a Sony CRX1611, which is an ATAPI 16x/8x/32x and I think it's just 
a better/faster version of the CRX140E. I'm running on RedHat Linux 6.2 with kernel 
2.2.14-5.0.

This only occurs when I try to burn at speed=16.  When I use speed=8, cdrecord 
completes successfully (and creates a good CD when not in dummy mode).

Some posts indicated that DMA was a potential problem, so I did ensure it is turned 
off.

I believe my media should work at 16x.  I am using Sony CD-R discs, part number 
50CDQ80SP1.  That's a 50 disc spindle.  The label indicates "1x to 16x compatible".

I've included the output of hdparm and cdrecord below.  I also have the (successful) 
output of my cdrecord run with speed=8 which I did not include as it is over half a 
meg, and it doesn't seem useful.
