Plextor PX716A speed problem : probably a Powerec issue

2005-02-10 Thread Zeb
Hi, Finally I think I found the speed problem with my PX716A, which was burning my 8X Verbatim DVD+R at 12X or 4X. Actually, the discs are recommended as 12X by Powerec. So, with Powerec enabled (in cdrecord, when forcespeed is not used), the drive has a mind on its own, and disable any speed p

[growisofs] : other clues about speed problem with PX-716A

2005-02-04 Thread Zeb
Hi, I reported earlier the speed problem with a PX-716A. I made some new tests, using k3b/growisofs. This time, in k3b I used "Ignore" as speed selection (there is no -speed switch with the growisofs command) since growisofs displayed the drive would use 8.2X. (see previous thread : $ growisofs -
