Upgrade of our CD Burning machine

Hi folks, We currently burn CDs on a Sparc 10 system running Solaris 2.6. We are going to replace it with an Ultra 5 running either Solaris 7 or Solaris 8. Has anyone had experience with either of these OS versions and cdrecord? Was it good or bad experience? Did you have any issues with the
