Or create a simple kickstart file that would specify the HTTP or FTP method
and install from a public mirror?

Hi Tim,
What if you symlink the shared nfs dir to /var/www/html/somedir and try
the http protocol? May help?

If you use a kickstart file to build unattended servers (eg virt-install)
then new disks or virtual volumes will cause problems unless you have
"zerombr true" in the kickstart file
eg

This is likely to be a bug in RHEL5 rather than one in RHEL6. RHEL5
(kernel 2.6.18) does not always guarantee that the disk cache is
flushed before 'fsync' returns. This is especially true if you use
software RAID and/or LVM. You may be able to get the old performance
back by disabling I/O barriers
Guys,
I've been trying to install centos 6.2, then 6.3 onto a supermicro 6013P-8
which does not have a DVD rom drive. Those newer version of CentOS only
have DVD (not CD) iso versions so I've been sharing the install via NFS.
With each try the install hangs forever installing

If you're updating your CentOS 5.X installation regularly at all, xz
and xz-libs should be automatically downloaded as a dependency for
something, can't quite remember what. Most of our 5.X machines have
pulled it when updates are run weekly.

Just grab the xz package.
I roll initrds (for a custom pxe boot setup) on a CentOS 5.8 host.
I've rerolled the initrd for 6.2 some time ago and you've reminded me
to take care of 6.3 today.

We have this issue.
I have a support call open with Red Hat about it. Bug reports will only
really forcibly get actioned if you open a support call and point at the
bug report.
I also have this issue though much much worse on Fedora (using BTRFS),
which will surely have to be fixed before BTRFS b

What format is the images/pxeboot/initrd.img file on the DVD ?
Its not gzip
its not straight cpio
What is it?
I wish to change it.
I'm finding information on changing the gzip version of initrd
but not the PXE one.
If I do "file initrd.img" it just says data.

The "$PreserveFQDN on" directive was not being recognized as the
