We've had the same problem. It helped to recursively delete all cached
files in /var/cache/yum. Just run yum update again and you shoudl be fine.

user first. You can do this by changing your sshd_config:
PermitRootLogin without-password
I am not sure if this is possible for regular logins too. Sorry.

isn't this entirely a problem caused by MBR?
An (U)EFI-machine should be able to handle FS-sizes beyond these limits without
any hassles. Can anyone confirm this?
