[CentOS] new install and software raid

Is there a reason why after a software raid install (from kickstart) that md1 is always unclean. md0 seems fine. boot screen says md1 is dirty and cat /proc/mdstat show md1 as being rebuilt. Any ideas? Jerry --- my kickstart -- echo "bootloader --location=mbr --driveorde

[CentOS] no network kernel boot option

I installed 5.2 x86_64 on a new hp dv7z laptop using noprobe on the install line. After rebooting the rtl8169 causes the kernel to dump. Is there a parameter I can pass to it (somehow) to avoid the kernel dump??? Thanks, Jerry ___ CentOS mailing list

Hi all, If I initially installed a i386 kernel on centos 4.6 is it possible to migrate to i686 with yum (yes the box cpu is capable)? Can I just "yum install kernel2.6.9-78.EL.i686" and that will work? Will that magically bring in other needed libraries? Thanks, Jerry

hi all, I have an issue where I must not have selected X at install time as its not there. I dont have networking on this box. I can put the DVD back in unit but I dont have X to run and to software add/remove. How do I do this from the command line with no network so no yum install package
