At this point the ppp0 interface drops off and redials. It is no longer
able to maintain a stable connection. ppp0 and eth0 do not use the same

Sweet thanks. Now I know about dkms-enabled driver package which
rebuilds the driver automatically for each kernel upgrade
h man pages have examples you can gain experience from. :)

If that also works, then check the DNS server your windows box is using.
It may have cached the DNS entry for domain.com (assuming the DNS server
is NOT the CentOS box)
You could also try an ipconfig /flushdns

I've narrowed things down to not include the Linux box. :)
I took the Linux box's IP and moved it to another non Linux machine. The
same issues occur.

As William mentioned the easiest way is to format the drive after the fact.
Create an LVM and write it directly onto the drive. Things work great that
way. I haven't tried formatting a raw device.

configuration by hand. That's a throwback to my Slackware days and that
way I know things work.
