You can create these two files which will be executed every time interface
comes up goes down.
/sbin/ifup-local
/sbin/ifdown-local
mark them as executable.
The Device name will be passed as argument.
example, /sbin/ifup-local eth0.
use case or if statements for interface parsing in the
PowerEdge 2850 with PERC SCSI RAID controller.

Thank you James.
I installed the latest centosplus kernel, and it fixed it.
Looks like this problem will be fixed in kernel-2.6.32-358.5.1.el6

After you have tried the pcie_aspm boot option, also try :
echo performance /sys/module/pcie_aspm/parameters/policy
This will disable ASPM on PCIe and operate with maximum performance.
This is what I use today on the DL380 G7.

How often are you getting these crashes ?
I had simular problem on my HP DL380 G7 server.
I disabled Active State PowerManagement on the PCI-E express.
Try it.
Add pcie_aspm=off as optional boot option.

Hi there.
I'm currently configuring a brand new email server(IMAP) which will run
CentOS 6.3 x64.
So lots of files on the data volume.
I'm confused about stripe size for my data volume.
I'm using 2x500GB for OS in RAID1 and 2x2TB SAS for DATA in RAID1 which is
hosted on a HP Smart Array P420
Oks. thanks allot.
I'l go with the defaults.
Best R,
Svavar

Hi Götz.
I'm running Centos 6.2 on a Proliant DL380 G7 server connected to a HP
Lefthand P4500
using multipath, and ALB(Adaptive Load Balancing) on the Lefthand box it
self.
Regarding, multipath vs bonding read this -

You will need to go
What kernel are you using ?
Are you using inode64 mount option on the Cents server itself for XFS ?
What OS was the NFS client running ? 32bit ?
Just asking, as there seems to be problem with xfs on kernel 2.6.27 when
using inode64 mount options regarding
32bit nfs

Hi.
I get these ACPI errors constantly every 5min or so in /var/log/messages
and dmesg :
kernel: ACPI Error: SMBus or IPMI write requires Buffer of length 42,
found length 20 (20090903/exfield-286)

Hello all.
We recently purchased HP Proliant DL380 G7 server and also a HP Lefthand
P4500 G2 24TB iSCSI box.
The server itself has Quad Ethernet based on the BCM5709 Chipset from
Broadcom (NetXtreme II).
My main question is about iSCSI offload mechanism, as iSCSI itself is
pretty new to me
