I want to get vlc or mplayer to work on CentOS 8. For this I need enca to
beinstalled. So I took it from Fedora 31 and tried to build the rpm.
At the end of the process I get this message:

I'm using sshguard to acomplish this. You can acutally choose tthe size
of the range you want to block, /8 of /16, no problem.
It works perfect!
It is included in the repo both for C7 and C8.

On my CentOS-8 box firewalld will not start. It appears to be because the
nf_conntrack module cannot be loaded.
I saw on the net that a similar issue occurred on C7, but I couldn't find
the solution.

logfile and is equal to the number reported by logwatch in the
MailScanner section.
How come postfix reports a lot more being put on hold than the real
number?

My rsyslog is not working as expected.
I have some thing in rsyslog.d that do well, like this:
# Log all iptables stuff separately

No problems with that.
Bu what's in /etc/rsyslog.conf like:
mail.* /var/
--permanent --zone=public --add-port=6/tcp
6. systemctl enable firewalld.service
did i miss anything?

I'm trying to configure wireless on my Asus laptop running CentOS7.
I see wlan0 when I type iw dev, but if I type
ip link set wlan0 up
I get the following error:

You can not have a gateway that is on another ip subnet than your physical
interfaces from that server, so a route should have a gateway that is on
the same ip subnet as your interfaces.
In your case you should add another subnet on both servers something like:

Probably the video driver is not working as it should, I have the same
problem after installing the vendors proprietary drivers on my laptop.
