Hello,
I have solved the problem but I don't know why it now works.
If I boot the 7.3 USB Key, go to troubleshoot then select installation with
basic graphics it all works.
I can then boot the system disk and set up the full graphics.
As an experiment I tried both 7.2 and 7.4. The above rules apply

+1 on the switch not being completely up itself.
This may be the wrong approach, but install the
NetworkManager-config-server rpm. It sets a config option to allow
interfaces to be configured before being available, which may help.

Had you used NetworkManager, it would have detected the network coming up and
started networking. This is one of the reasons why I continue to use NM for
our serv

our server uses 1 GBit Nic and 10 GBit SPF+ NIC.
When both nics are configured ONBOOT=yes, then both nics are OK.
Wen 1GBit nic is ONBOOT=no, netwerk does not come up.
Missing driver? What else?
