APC is a module for PHP. So, if you see it with phpinfo(), it is ok with apache or lighttpd. I only use it with apache, so, I can't tell you anymore :-/ You can read this link http://www.howtoforge.com/integrating-apc-into-php5-and-lighttpd-fedora9with is about APC and lighttpd on Fedora.
