I'm wondering whether 'session reset' implies the below?

In my case I was able to bring up the fs successfully after resetting
sessions+journal and scanning links using cephfs-data-scan tool.

Didnt work for me. Downgraded and mds won't start.
I also needed to:
rados -p cephfs_metadata rm mds0_openfiles.0
or else mds daemon crashed.
The crash info didn't show any useful information (for me). I couldn't
figure this out without Zheng Yan help.

The problem is caused by unintentional change of on-disk format of MDS purge
queue. If you have upgraded and didn't hit the bug -- that probably means your
MDS daemon was deployed after the upgrade, otherwise it wouldn't start.

The problem occurs after upgrade, fresh 13.2.2 installs are not affected.

By the way, does it happen with all installations or only under some
conditions?
CephFS will be offline and show up as "damaged" in ceph -s
The fix is to downgrade to 13.2.1 and issue a "ceph fs repaired "
command.

What exactly are the symptoms of the problem? I use cephfs with 13.2.2 with
two active MDS daemons and at least on the surface everything looks fine.
Is there anything I should avoid doing until 13.2.3?

Hi,
Is it possible to have more infos or announce about this problem ?
I'm currently waiting to migrate from luminious to mimic, (I need new quota
feature for cephfs)
is it safe to upgrade to 13.2.2 ?
or better to wait to 13.2.3 ? or install 13.2.1 for now ?

It's also possible to install ubuntu xenial packages on stretch,
but this need the old libssl1.0.0 package (you can install manually the deb

Hi everyone,
OSS Europe is happening in Edinburgh next week, and on Monday there'll
be a Ceph BoF session[1] at 18:00. This is an informal session for
Ceph users and developers to meet up and talk about whatever's on our
collective mind.
Hope to see you there!
Thanks,
John

being a Debian Developer, I can upload my backports that I maintain/use
at work to e.g. people.debian.org/~daniel or so. Given time

I wouldn't hold my breath for an official Stretch release.
We are running several Mimic clusters in production with Debian, our
Stretch packages are available at our mirror:

Hi,
I have a similar issue, and created a simple bash file to delete old
indexes (it is PoC and have not been tested on production):
for bucket in `radosgw-admin metadata list bucket | jq -r '.[]' | sort`
do
actual_id=`radosgw-admin bucket stats --bucket=${bucket} | jq -r '.id'`

Hi,
I just wanted to know if we had a chance soon to install Mimic on Debian
9 ?! ;)
I know there is a problem with the required version gcc (compatible with
c++17) that is not yet backported on current stable version of Debian,
but is there any news on this side ?
Regards,
Hervé
My idea was the setting, which disables encryption on rgw, so rgw anounces, it
doesn't support it (I don't know how client and server are comunicating this
now, so maybe I am oversimplyfing it).
Anyway, workaround with rgw_crypt_s3_kms_encryption_keys looks great.
Thank you!
Hi,
A few weeks ago I found radosgw index has been inconsistent with
reality. Some object I can not list, but I can get them by key. Please see
the details below:
*BACKGROUND:*
Ceph version 12.2.4 (52085d5249a80c5f5121a76d6288429f35e4e77b) luminous
(stable)
Index pool is on ssd.
