I'm about to do the same thing. I'm just fed up with Outlook 2002 and for many of the same reasons. Slow is the worst, but it also has a known bug that was the cause of my duplicate message problem. I can't resolve the problem because MS won't fix the bug, but curiously OE doesn't have the problem.
