Personally I would say that you could (or could not) feel bad depending on
how much you like the client in first place.
Liability, on the other hand, is a legal issue - and unless you were

I agree with that. This was really more a client of a client, to make
things more complicated. But the hypothetical developer feels guilty for
not being more proactive.
At least the files and database structure still exist, and the old data
is there. But 3 months of changes may have been lost.
Nope. Their IT department was not doing the hosting. Once the old server
was shut down everything went to the bitbucket. Just got confirmation on
that one from the hosting company.

Something similar happened to a client of mine. He paid a firm big bucks
to build a Web site for him and have it hosted. The thing he did not
realize is the hosting was only for a year, and he never received a bill
to renew the hosting. Long story short, the hosting company deleted his

with the same hosting company that the dedicated server was at.

Wait for it to hit $99. If Microsoft is willing to take this big a hit

Okay, I just got the flyer in my email. Looks like it's a BusLink brand DVD
burner. The older 4x BusLink is a rebranded LiteOn and if I didn't have a
Pioneer 107 on the way I'd be skipping out of work to go grab this deal.

This is really a CF-Talk question, especially as it was covered the other day. Some ISPs see the mailing agent of coldfusion as a spam generator. All you have to do is use a CFMAILPARAM to rewrite the mailing agent type.
