My craps game worked pretty well, it even had a pair of little animated dice
that "rolled". The fun part though was implementing the game rules in
program logic. Craps, and black jack too I imagine, would really allow you
to explore some of the core components of OO programming

Back in the old days you were given a NIC handle and you could do lookups on
that NIC handle. It was pretty a pretty handy tool. Back then when all the
changes were done via the email forms those NIC handles made it real easy.
For instance mine was NM1635 I think. You could do a WHOIS on that and
he still lurks. and posts here occasionally.

through internic, but now the root whois server doesn't always have the
info, they only have the domain and the registrar on record.

whois database. If there was such a function which I don't think there is,
you'd still have to query every whois database responsible for each TLD to
