My Golden Retriever had the paw problem, and the vet said she has allergies, and when dogs are allergic to something their paws itch. She also had smelly ears, and the vet informed us that this is a yeast infection. Apparently dogs (especially floppy eared ones) get smelly ears when this happen

What he said :) My mastiff has the same issue, she has some kind of skin issue that makes her feet itch like crazy so she chews them. Problem is they get worse from being chewed, start to smell and will scab up. She has to take some kind of medicine to deal with it, I think it might be relate
