I believe if you roll over an 401K into an ROTH IRA, you will pay taxes and
penalties because an ROTH IRA is after taxes and an 401K is pre taxes.

Yeah you can roll those over into a traditional IRA... etrade will do
it for you. from there you have lots more options then the 401(k)
where you can buy stocks (which I don't recommend) or mutual funds
(which I do).
I would really suggest a Roth IRA since they grow tax free but you
can't roll ov

If you're interested in Mutual Funds, go Vanguard if you can get in

managed there, they rock), or USAA if you can get in (Vet or child of

I think the de facto advice is to go with a Roth IRA, preferably one
that holds no load mutual funds. Of course, you'll get the whole gamut
