I agree...he got rid of everyone. It sounds like there was a management
decision not to have management connected to employees on FB.

Since it was all at once, that seems like a "management decision", rather
than a personal one.
Something happened that made such a decision necessary.
Someone posted, or liked something that, if the manager had to acknowledge
"knowing", they would have to take some undesired action at work.

But if I did, I would probably be very reluctant to friend anyone on
FaceBook unless they were a friend in real life too. That's what LinkedIn
is for.
