Squarespace is great but you are locked in to them for everything (hosting,
etc)
I like wordpress but I like to create the custom theme. If you don't want
to mess around with it and you want to go everything in the browser than SS
is a great option.

It it's just a personal site and it's primary requirement is "Content
Management" then SquareSpace is a solid way to go.

I think going with SquareSpace, Wix or any service like that is a mistake.
It restricts you to their environment and you have less room for growth.
I also kind of feel the same way about WordPress but if you are on a real
hosting company you can always build apps and do other things in subdomain
