Personally, nesting tables adds a layer of complexity but it's sometimes
very useful.
However I think you might try Stephen's observation first:

t's failing when it feels like it (or our mail server is). So, how can
I figure out the reason WHY it failed?
I looked in the cfusion/mail/log folder but there isnt anything in it.
