I definitely agree that Adobe has some serious work ahead of them and
that this whole "Apple vs Adobe" thing is forcing Adobe to address
alot of problems they have had their head in the sand about for years.
I think that this new RIA platform war is a good thing for the web in
the long run since it's sure to result in an arms race of sorts,
similar to the browser wars of the Dot Com era. Hopefully every
technology involved will come out better for it, but there is a chance
that one of them will not survive in the long run, There is even a
chance that Flash will be the one that loses.

Another high profile failure of Flash on Android has been making the
rounds this weekend:

I have alot of time and effort (basically my entire career) invested
in Adobe technologies, much of that in Flex/Flash, but at the end of
the day Adobe needs to get their act together, and quickly. They are
bleeding, the clock is ticking, and everyone's watching.

Having said that though - HTML5 is great too but not a real
alternative yet. Anyone who thinks it is a viable cross platform
replacement for Flash today is really seriously misinformed.
