Will probably happen. For now I just want the small touchscreen that
currently runs my car's GPS and dashboard to be integrated with my phone. I
agree that
"I can't wait till I can just leave my phone in my pocket and have the
apps from
it wirelessly display on the screen built into the dash. Some cars are on
their way to this already. I just want the experience to be as seamless as
BlueTooth is for making phone calls from my car."
It won't be long.
Speaking of Waze - Apple has been considering using it as part of the Maps app

I tried it but it's real buggy. Only rarely does it give turn by turn
directions and the menus are not intuitive at all which is real bad
when driving. Must work well on the iphone since Apple wants to own
it

Have you guys tried out the Waze app? Crowd sourced traffic reports and
pretty good routing around it.

How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who has read Marx
We had a new stretch of highway open 2 months ago (knocks about 15 minutes
off trip to DC/No. VA). Took about a month before it started showing up in
Google Navigation (GPS app).
I don't think I will ever own a stand alone GPS device again. Updates are
too slow and expensive in some cases.

I'm actually mostly ignorant to that functionality since my car has GPS in
it already, but competition and innovation is good!

We've had turn by turn navigation using google maps for years.
You finally got the same thing but a newer version with different
buttons. Touche.
The fact that you will one day have offline mode again makes me happy
for you since I know it's a nice to have.

So after tonight I am very impressed with Google Maps for the iPhone. I
have duty tonight and I was out making my rounds checking the ranges that
are out in the middle of nowhere (you know what I mean Tim). When I noticed
that one of the ranges had the chain to the gate cut off, I had to go to
