apparently brazilians are demonstrating demanding an arrest.
I am not sure I agree? I think there was good reason to
suspect a suicide bomber. A small part of me wonders if
someone obviously British would have been seen as matching a
profile
I assume by obviously British you mean
probable but not certain. You've heard of John Walker Lindt, yes? I
just hope nobody Irish gets any bright ideas. I'd like to think
there's a little too much decency in the Irish, but that's really a
fond and probably sentimental hope.
I'm troubled by the whole thing but I don't know that

One thing that strikes me about these bombings -- is it me or are they
targeting decidedly working class areas? I mean, it's been quite a
while since I was in London but I doubt Stockwell has gentrified much,
and Brixton is mainly known for race riots. Hackney is pretty working

why the man was running away from the police. The police thought he was a
suicide bomber, that's why they shot him in the head.

The guy probably, sadly, never thought the police would shoot. He
liked his life in London and didn't want to get deported so when the
police told him to stop he ran.
He didn't consider the seriousness of that in light of the bombings.
Maybe he
Yes, it was a tragic mistake. I agree with you on his motivation and I can
also understand why the policemen did what they did.

Oh man, that really sucks. What a horrible tragedy. Poor guy. I feel for his
family, but it's hard to fault the police when they've just had the second
series of bombings in the tube in two weeks and they are looking for suspects
with the full knowledge that the people they are hunting for are
