My motorcycle dealer sucks!!!

This is getting rediculous.

I went to pick up the YZF600R today after it's first 600 Mile service.

Here's how it went:

I go in to pay the bill. $215 for an oil change. The documentation I got
doesn't list any other activities performed (carburator rejetting, brakes
checks, etc.) So I essentially paid $215 for an oil change. I'm a F***ing
sucker, with a capital f***ing "F". Then I ask the guy behind the counter,
"I'd like to buy a collar gasket." Wide-eyed, he looks at me. "A what?" I
say, "Collar Gasket. It's used in the exhaust system -- it connects to the
s-pipe." (Keep in mind I'm not very good with mechanics and engines -- I'm a
programmer, whaddya want? I can build things though with wood and lay tiles,
so I'm no slouch... ;)

He doesn't know what I'm talking about. Neither of the guys behind the
counter did. He told me "I can call Yamaha and order the part for you." I
told him to forget it. I didn't even WANT to know how much they were going
to charge me for a $14 gasket. You mean to tell me that a YAMAHA shop
doesn't stock Yamaha parts, let alone know what they are?! So I walk out
flustered, and wait (impatiently) for the tech to bring out the cycle.

The bike was DISGUSTING. Dirt, water spots, *footprints* on the seat... I
couldnt' believe my eyes. I didn't want to argue with the guy. I just
wanted to get the HELL out of there. My wife was amazed.

I'm gonna fire a nice letter to Yamaha about this. And I'm going to go on a
wild goose chase to find the gasket so I can switch the exhaust system. I
want my bike to be loud.

Sorry -- just venting. At least I have my road test on Friday to look
forward to.
