definitely check out Femi Kuti's 2001 album, Fight To Win, really
great stuff that I think you'd like.

Ok, then, some musical education.
Femi Kuti is Nigerian and the son of Fela Kuti who pretty much
pioneered Afrobeat. He plays a really booty shaking, upbeat music that
combines a lot of the best in funk and traditional African music. He's
played internationally for quite some time and has put out
Then you are missing some excellent music.

Yeah, that distinction has occurred to me as well. I still kick myself
for not seeing Stevie Ray the last time I had a chance, thinking I'll
just catch him the next time he comes through...
The one other thing that makes me ponder is that Taj Mahal is playing
the Waterfront Blues Festival, which
never heard of either.
hahahaah

Taj Mahal is older by twenty years. Better to see him while you have
the chance. Femi is likely gonna be around a lot longer.

I liked Femi Kuti live. I don't know Taj Mahal

Don't know Femi, have seen Taj maybe 6 times, and would go again tomorrow if
they were nearby.

Which show should I go to this Friday? Both Taj Mahal and Femi Kuti
are in town and playing the same night. I've never gotten to see
either of them live before. Neither show is hugely expensive. What
