Yep. Whatever the motherboard takes is it. Type and speed. You can usually put a faster bus speed ram of the same type in but it won't run faster than the bus speed. Based on the amount and type of ram you mentioned, this is a PC100 board which was vintage at the time of the Pentium2/first gen P3,
