leisurely ride home on the less busy city streets. Exercise, work,
relaxation... All in the name of $7.50 an hour. LOL

The best commute I've ever had was the 10-15 minutes it took me to WALK from my parent's home to work while they lived in Alexandria when I was home during the summers from college in New Mexico.

if you are sure then I bow to your more recent knowledge. I was not aware that you had been out there. It is also true that we reverse commuted in the time we were there...

that's the place. In 1999-2000 it was a blue-collar town and I rented a huge 3 bdrm with attic and pantry and hardwood floors etc etc for 600 a month. I have to say the 90 mile commute to work got old, but it was an absolutely beautiful drive until you got to Frederick, either 70 through the mounta
I agree but when I was looking there was no rental housing available. Worth a try tho I guess.

I was torn between Hyattsville and Greenbelt when I moved to the area in 1999.
I ended up going with Hyattsville because the apartment was going to be ready sooner. It turned out to be a good thing because my car blew up shortly thereafter and I had to ride the bus/train.
Check out Laurel as well
I've tried the MARC thing. Lived in Martinsburg the last time I was there. Wound up driving in most of the time; I'm not someone that can catch a train at 6AM. Also, my boss was extremely anal about schedules and late due to MARC delay was late as far as he was concerned.

which also helps. Other option would be to see if you can go in really early
(i.e., 6am) and head home fairly early too.
