I know makeashorter link is indefinitely ... like ... until their
database dies or they have a problem.
That's why I prefer to use it.

What I think it really needs to do is to build a sequence of url rewrite
sites together.

One thing I notice is that it's a simple incremented counter instead of a
hash. Dunno if it matters, but I could see game of "go to a random link" in
the future.
