Do it. Visit St Paul de Vence (and see the Fondation Maeght) and inspire
yourself. Learn French and find a gallery that will carry your work in Nice or
another city. Maybe Aix-en-Provence...

Heh. Both of us went to art school. So if we went, we probably would
be painting pictures.

By the south of france, are you talking general south, or riviera south? If
general, St Remy looks pretty nice in Provence.

of it, I don't really know, but perhaps we could discuss further offline. (I'm
going for lunch for the next 45 minutes or so).

If you milked the goats and made feta, would that be considered cottage cheese?
I have a friend who moved to Italy with $200,000 in the late 80s, bought a nice
townhouse in Milan and a country shack, and hasn't worked since.

I think Jerry won't mind if I suggest that he was obviously joking and
doesn't consider commie, pot-smoking, pantywaist liberals to be bad
people. Or that you are one.
So does anyone live in the south of France and would know what the
cost of living is like for a cottage and some goats? Seriously.

Very good rough estimate. UK to US conversion is 1.89380. Be prepared
to pay a slight spread. This means that every dollar will buy you about

those salary ranges dont look far off the mark from what ive seen in
the states (unless im looking in the wrong place, in which case if we
dont move overseas maybe it's time for a move here anyways =P)
as far as living arrangements go, we will be renting for sure at least
in the beginning.

You stand a good chance of landing a decent CF job in London although
salaries for CF developers will probably max out at around £40,000
($74,000). Most of my larger contracts have been in London and the pay is
good The only thing about London that is a downside is the living
expenses.

Hi,
I live and work in the UK as a freelancer and to be quite honest, I don't
see many CF jobs flying about I do however get plenty of CF jobs
although most of those are through existing contacts or recommendations from
previous clients.
Seriously, there is a big shortage of decent CF labour
It's not that good for CF jobs anymore, basically thanks to Macromedias
idiotic handling of the product there are less and less jobs advertised.
What there are you can find at http://www.jobserve.co.uk/, this is the main
IT jobsite in the UK and practically all the agencies use it. Most of the CF
According to many news reports, all commie, pot-smoking, pantywaist liberals
are moving to Canada after the election.
We also had a thread over the last two days called "Escaping To Canada" that
had lots of traffic. Very little of which was on the actual subject of going to
Canada.
