nearing Hawaii, I heard a controller wishing a pilot

surprised they get to know anything about each other

Yup.
And my wife was quite amused at how much I listened to
it, but squelched my attempts at keeping her informed
.
Actually, it's an "info rich" environment at the SFO and
Hawaii ends, but a lot of nothing over the Pacific .
