I finally broke down and ordered a NAS solution to relieve the stress on my burdened disks. (Right now I've four 200 Gig drives in a RAID 10 configuration with a 200 Gig external disk - pretty much everything is close to full.) I went with the Infrant ReadyNAS box and four 400 Gig disks from NewEgg - getting the disks separately saves me about $250 overall. The Infrant system supports pretty much all media servers (including the LinkServer for my Avel networked DVD player which is the important one for me). When done I'll have in the area of 1.1 TB of RAID 5 NAS. Even after I move over all of my video, audio and books collections I'll still have around 700 Gig of space for growth.
