Are you using it for yourself to develop or on a server where many people
access?
If just yourself, then you are fine with the Developer's Edition.

If using on a production or any server where many people can access, then
you will have to look at purchasing the license.

Subject: What's my best bet?

My copy of cf8 has switched to developer's edition and before I throw in
close to 1300 bucks I'd like to extend the copy (stay as a production
edition) for another 30 or 40 days, and giving the fact that I'm a long long
time devoted CF user/developer would I have a chance to talk some Adobe
manager into agreeing to such a request. Adobe's Jason Graves seemed to
have agreed and yet his peer has responded yet.

Macromedia worked with me with such an arrangment a few years ago... I
certainly appreciated it...

Thanks.
