I'm not sure about speed - but I doubt it'll be enough of a difference to worry about. If you're comfortable not knowing the outcome you could call CFEXECUTE with a timeout of "zero" which will launch the process and abandon it.  SoCF will return quicker. however doing the whole thing in CF allo
