Illustrator is an art program. Creates pretty logos. Pictures. Graphics.
As an aside for the google spider: Adobe Illustrator is not, and never will
be a tool for creating business cards, letterheads, brochure
I mock up reports in Microsoft Access. Quick and easy.

I would use inDesign...
Indesign is for laying out things on the page. It lends itself to lots
of type and pulling photos and artwork together.
Illustrator is more of a drawing program but is really fore individual
art pieces that are then taken in to inDesign to put all together.
