Yeah, we have multiple vehicles, for everyday travel (mainly to save
on gas), I take a car. Although I did notice the truck gets pretty
good gas mileage, > 20MPG (without the AC running). The truck's more
for work (hauling, moving things, etc)

Your joking right!
you've put 700 miles your truck in 2 1/2 months? That's not even a good
weekend.
Take your little trip. Come home and change your oil. You may want to
change your undies too.
Before you leave check the following:

Exactly. If it's new then all you're really doing is just making sure
that everythi
Oil is good for around 5k miles now, if it's been a while change it.
Wal-Mart costs around $20 to change the oil.

yeah yeah yeah ... come on! I'm still looking for the Milwaukee Beer can
coming down ...
It is a legit question as far as changing the oil/fluids. you should always
have them checked before and after long trips, no matter what the mileage,
sort of a better safe than sorry thing.

I only worry about it because I don't want to f**k up my truck. I
thought it was a legit question. And I didn't want to change the oil
before hand if I don't need to. I know some people who change it
before and after long trips, I wasn't sure if 1200 miles constitutes a
"long trip"
And yeah, the 50

After rereading the above passage, I guess it is not true, but the first
pass through I pictured her serving over a 5"-6" curbed lane divider to
avoid the one inch depression.

I was thinking about the same thing Paul ... but, well ...
I was thinking to myself - DAMN! Give me that truck! I know a cool 1200 mile
trip I'd like to go on right now ...
When I got my new truck years ago before they upped the mileage in between
oil changes, I drove that sucker almost 10,000 mi
On an engine that new it should not be much. If it is all highway miles, that
is easier on the engine than stop and go traffic miles.
I would check the engine oil before you leave. It should have a blueish brown
color with an oily sheen and have some body. Give it a sniff and it should
smell

wow. people really worry about this?
change the oil. check the tires. check the fluids. in fact just go have it
all lubed. then drive and don't worry about it.
The way people beat the CRAP out of their F150's around here - they'd laugh
at you for this question.
