You don't specify WHERE on 5th ave you'll be arriving, it's a pretty big
avenue.


Expect to spend a few bucks over average on drinks, even in the "local"
smaller establishments.


You should head on down to the village section ... if you like Mexican,
there's La Margarita on the corner of Bleecker and Thompson. I love the
place. Great margaritas.


The Chelsea section of town has some great bars ... though many can be
"alternative" ... so as long as you don't care about that, you'll find
some great places. There's one I used to go to around the corner from a
client on 20th and 6th that was located off street level with a little
outdoor patio and a restaurant upstairs that overlooked the street.
GREAT food and great drinks ... but I can't remember the name of it ...
:( the bar area was really tiny, but totally worth it.


Just walk around ... go to what interests you.


TONS of places.

well i may head out to the city today at noon.
its a 12 hour drive, we are escorting a couple building models of trade
center & stuff for a design charette.

so we will pull in to 5th ave around 10 pm.
any good bars in the area? preferably cheaper..
