Didn't this thread start out talking about pulling out of the ABM treaty?

As far as drugs and drink, humans can become slaves to inanimate objects.
Sad but very true statement.

Think about smokers. I quit in march, so I don't want to hear any "you've
never been there" comments. Withdrawl is an absolute bitch, but for 7 years
I enjoyed hurting my body and defended my actions violently. After a while
I admitted that I was doing something not too good for my body, but still
wouldn't stop, because I just plain didn't want to. I tried quitting 5
other times with varying degrees of success. Only when my wife, who smoked
as well, decided to quit and told me that if I didn't that it would make her
feel like I was not supporting her if I didn't did I decide to try again,
this time with the help of Zyban (which is actually Wellbutrin, an
antidepressant... a side effect is the reduced affect of nicotine on the
brain).

As far as waking up at a prescribed time or holding a good work ethic, in my
opinion that's a result of the way we were raised. I was always taught to
work hard and work often. I guess with different ways of raising kids and
different examples being set, not all kids (and adults) get the same values
as I had growing up. It was amazing when I worked in retail to see how few
people today have what can be considered a good work ethic.

Happy Sunday, folks, and Happy Holidays to all!
