Transferring to a new host...

I was talking to a potential host. They told me they wouldn't set me up with an account until I transferred my domain. Am I missing something or is this completely idiotic? I told them I wouldn't transfer the domain until I was able to set-up and test the site on their servers. --

They offer a specific CMS service to people that host with them. I wanted to evaluate those services before deciding to host with them. I think my mistake was to tell them that. They have been less than helpful. This is my first time posting through Michael's web interface.

Jeff, You should always be able to setup an account without transferring the domain. They will either give you an IP to access your site or a virtual URL to it. That's standard procedure. If they insist ... Find another host. Cheers, Erika
