also i need to rip a corporate dvd to avi.
but non of the corporate people have the right codec and dont have admin too
install.

Yeah, I've heard of people using HadBrake to convert "rented" DVD's to
AppleTV-friendly format. Then, they have it stored on hard drive and
they send movie back, and are able to watch it whenever they want.
Viola, instant movie library.
