On the local freecycle we get a few of those regularly. The latest one was for
a 42" LCD TV.
Just wish I could have responded to the person with "Want a huge TV, then get a
job."

And it all (looks and reads) like good stuff. Good brand names, good
designers, good descriptions and solid photos.

eh well that did it for me. The local mom and pop computer store fixes
old monitors and sells them for like ten bucks. I took them over there
and gave them to them. The city wanted $15 each to recycle them.

I hear you.
I honestly wish our moderators would step in more often, it seems like
most of the stuff on the list here really is garbage
that is absolutely what I get out of it. Someone takes it away and I
do not have to take it to the dump. However, I also prefer to give
that semi-ok bike to someone who will fix it as opposed to having it
clutter up the landfill. Like I say, when it works it is win-win.

Yeah, that's the kind of stupid stuff I was dealing with as well. I was
finally like "this is stupid, and not worth the hassle."
now if i have something that i want to give away, I just set it out by the
curb...in a few days, it's always gone. Just like freecycle, but without all
the mess :)

Yeah, and how much of that is BS
If there is an offer on a dresser or a bicycle doesn't that kind of
say that you will not be able to transport this on the bus??
I mean -- I offered five bikes, all of which needed some work. The
first three people I talked to about them messed around and eventually
said (a couple of days late

The freecycle here is ghetto as hell.
People giving away and taking open food items, nasty stuff like used
nursing pads.
They are good about saying if you will need a truck or if an item is large.
Someone just posted a wanted item for an x-box 360, come on. Yeah, her

when it works it is win-win for everyone. From the point of view of
someone giving items away though it is often frustrating. I mean, if
you are asking for something that requires a vehicle (my recent
giveaways include bicycles, a dresser and a four-foot flower pot)
shouldn't you consider that *be
My experience with freecycle here in KC sucked donkey balls.i didn't
want to say anything though, because everyone on here seems to love it.
