software, or malware installed on the machine that's proxying port 80.
My wifes laptop recently had this happen.
In FF, Tools->Options->Advanced->Network->Settings
What is checked there?

Sounds like IE is setup to use a proxy or something like that. Go to Control
Panel | Internet Options and check the Connections tab.
