No. Household Bank is a fairly large credit card backer/provider (and, later, loans including a buyout of Beneficial) who was bought by HSBC in order for the parent company to gain entry into the US CC market. They specialize in Sub-prime cards. Household was all American support. HSBC

it is. Though I don't think it's actually a bank. It seems to mostly be an offshore customer service company that generates incomprehensible but apparently irrelevant responses to email. I have been trying to activate a card I (regrettably) signed up for in *February.* Since February. Silly me. :
