Actually it did. His filibuster like performance got such a reaction from
the people that the Republicans finally realized they had to do something.
Maybe now we'll finally get some progress towards fixing the budget and the
economy. If not it would have been business as usual.

politicians to listen to the people they are supposed to work for instead
of the special interests that put them in office is a waste of time. And

Maybe, over time we would have a cause and effect type of outcome. In other
words, enough of them get fired for being the way they are now, and over time
the message sinks in that you really need to do what you were elected to do
rather than what your lobbyists tell you to do.
