sql tools?
i thoght they where is sql server?
is there a seperate instal?

If you open Query Analyzer, can you view contents of a table that way?
Select * from tablename

this is truly frustrating.
you know in Enterprise manager
you click on a remote server database & the table and the say return all
rows or do a query or look at a view
i can see that table.
but not open
how are you connecting to the local server? 127.0.0.1?
Also, for clarity, when you say "but unable to view the data in the
tables" are you referring to the local table data or remote table
data?

i can see my remote servers & tables.
