experienced developers for a software engineering role.
About the Position
The Senior Software Engineer provides technical expertise and hands on
development across a range of language, tools and technologies to help
Beaconfire's nonprofit clients implement effective, appropriate and lasting
technical solutions. In a team-based environment, the Sr. Software Engineer
will work closely with Beaconfire staff, to implement interactive applications,
commercial and open source Content Management Systems and eCommerce
applications.
Required Skills:
Successful candidates must have significant experience and skills in the
following:
* Strong Expertise in ColdFusion all versions, but particularly MX (v6x).
* Experience with at least 2 of the following languages:
o ASP.NET, PHP, PERL, Python, Java.
* Experience with OO development techniques and tools.
* Experienced with full lifecycle software development methodologies and
best practices in software development.
* Experience with Oracle 9i+ or SQL Server 7+ or MySQL.
* Experience developing for Windows, Linux, or Sun Solaris server
environments.
Preferred Skills:
* Interact with clients and develop technical requirements and detailed
design documentation.
* Proficiency with configuring Web servers including Apache, IIS and
IPlanet.
* Understanding and proficiency in the the following:
o Cascading Style Sheets
o DHTML
o JavaScript
o Dreamweaver templates
* Experience implementing Content Management Systems and eCommerce
applications.
