Anyone know of a good free poll app written in CF? Or a tutorial on how
to create my own? I looked at the cf exchange, but they wanted $30-$50.

Not exactly free, but...
There is a chapter of Instant ColdFusion ( written by me ) that steps
through the process of writing a survey type of application.

I think I'm going to try to build one vs. get one.
It's hard to do that every time, though, just because I am a one-woman
web show (that didnt sound good).

Yes, conceptually they aren't that hard to build, but the more features
you add-in the more complex it gets (isn't that always the way?).
I'm sure you'll have no problem.
My GF won't let me watch any of those one-woman web shows anymore.
