I'm doing an OS reinstall on my development workstation. I've got
Windows 2003 Server standard installed with all patches, service
packs, and hotfixes installed. I just downloaded the MX 7.01
installer from Macromedia.com. The installation seemed to go fine,
but gave me an Errors occurred
Check for a more specific message in the CFMX install log. On my XP
development machine that lives at
C:/CFusion/Macromedia_ColdFusion_MX_7_InstallLog.log YMMV

I had the same problem. Uninstall SP1, install CF, then reapply SP1.
It's a pain in the ass but there's not much else you can do about it
(that I know of).
