I was not aware of the 1000 word limit. Googiespell "was here when I got

users and I have not heard any complaints (An

There are some great suggestions here. (even the don't use words after 2003
suggestion, ;-) )
When this is eventually launched, the Googiespell limit (1000 words) will
probably be used up by midday. (several active sites). I was really into it
until I saw this limitation.

If you're trying
Any spell check is going to have to server-side component... You won't
find a "pure" one written in JS.
There may be some open "spell check" service out there but I didn't find
one when I looked a couple of years ago. I ended up using aspell with a
java wrapper (which I could easily call from CF).
I have used GoogieSpell with great success. It runs off Google's spell
checker. Google can fix my mangled attempts at spelling much better than
Word's spell check (which I stump on a regular basis).

Good one. I thought cf8's cftextarea (of cfform) has an attribute of RichTxt
something that uses some fancy js package which has a spell check function,
which cf version are you using? Also, FireFox 2.x has built in spell check
function, but it may not suffice...

If your hosting provider runs a java server then JSpellHTML might work out for
you (have been using it for years now). Here's the URL for JSpellHTML:
http://www.thesolutioncafe.com/jspell.html . The default page of that site
lists some other options that might work for you too.
Cost = $170.
We use ASpell and HTMLArea's SpellChecker plug (though modified to
work without HTMLArea) with great success.

Sorry if it is slow. the site is hosted locally on a DSL connection and is
being hit fairly hard at the moment. I assure you the URL is correct. Try
again in a few minutes.
