Thank you for this information about the Excel 64k limit, as it has caused us to re-think the solution.
In fact, I appreciate all who have commented, and it is interesting that it looks like we will be using a combination of the suggestions made.

I agree if this was a one-time event, then I would probably proceed with a CF import/export to and from Excel to Access. The routine would actually be a regularly run on a regular basis.
Jim Gurfein suggested DTS to import/export, which sound like a viable solution, though my concern is
