Before I even had the valid field in my query I was receiving that error. And I also
tried the valid without the ' '. So I am still stumped.

Your error is with #valid# - you've got it setting above (as numeric) while
below you have it inserting
ying to do. This is in
Sybase, but I assume it's the same for Access
"from" = '#from#'
